Getting Started

Set up your vault and plan access for family

Download and install

Get the installer for your computer from the download page, then follow the step-by-step install guide if you want more detail.

Create your vault (first run)

When you open the app for the first time, you create a strong vault password and your encrypted vault on this device. There is no cloud account and no separate sign-up step before your vault exists.

Choose a password you can remember. The app cannot reset or recover it for you. Keep a Vault Recovery File and any recovery words the app gives you in a safe place offline, separate from your device.

For password strength rules and vault password tips, see Vault password best practices.

After you are in the app

Licensing is handled inside the app after you enter. A one-time internet connection may be needed to activate; after that, the app is designed to work fully offline.

For a plain-language overview of how that fits together, read How it works.

Plan access for family

Use the in-app Family Guide to record where your vault lives and how a trusted person should open it. The Executor Guide is a separate printable output for the person handling your estate.

These guides pull from information you add in the vault; they are not a substitute for storing passwords securely offline where your family can find them.

Privacy at a glance

We do not use analytics or behavioral tracking on our public site or in the app. We email only when needed for what you signed up for; we do not send marketing email unless you opt in. Activation ties your license to your device; your vault is not uploaded to us. The app does not offer a way to extend access. See Privacy Policy and Support for full detail.
