How do I get a license?
You need a license to activate the app. You can get one in two ways:
- Free trial: Go to locallegacyvault.com/trial, sign up with your email. We send you a license by email. Use that license in the app.
- Purchase: Go to locallegacyvault.com/pricing, buy a license. Your confirmation email contains the license. Use it in the app.
Once you have the license from your email, open the app and follow the steps below to enter it and create your vault.
What You Need
The exact code from your purchase confirmation email (paid) or trial signup email (trial). Paste or type it exactly as shown; with or without dashes is fine.
Steps to activate (once you have your license)
1 Open the app
Launch Local Legacy Vault from your desktop or Applications folder. You’ll see the activation screen.
2 Get your license from email
Open the email you received after trial signup or purchase. Copy the license code (exact characters). Paste with or without dashes — both work.
3 Enter the license and click Create My Vault
Paste the license into the License field on the activation screen, then click Create My Vault. The app will verify it (internet required).
4 Create your master password
Choose a strong master password. This is the only password you need. Optionally save your recovery phrase so you can recover access if you forget it.
Common Issues
"Invalid license" or "License is for a different product" — Use the exact license from your email; do not change or guess any characters. If you're sure it's correct, contact support@locallegacyvault.com.
"This license is activated on a different device" — Each license is tied to one device. To use it on this computer, use Transfer License (Settings → License) from the other device first, or contact support for a one-time reset.
License won't paste — Try typing it instead, or copy again from your email (use the full license with or without dashes).
Where to Find Your License
- Paid purchase: Check your purchase confirmation email for the license code.
- Trial: Check the trial signup/welcome email for the license code.
Tip: Keep the email that contains your license. You may need it again if you reinstall or move to a new computer (use Transfer License when possible).
