Why attach documents?
Your vault entries can include more than text. Attach PDFs, images, and other files so important documents live next to your instructions. When your family opens an entry, they see everything in one place—no hunting through folders or email.
What you can attach
Common file types include PDFs (wills, policies, statements), images (photos of documents or ID), and standard office documents. The app keeps them encrypted with the rest of your vault. Avoid attaching extremely large files; keep individual files to a few megabytes when possible for best performance.
How to add an attachment
Open the entry you want to add a document to. Use the attachment or paperclip option in the entry editor. Choose the file from your computer. Once attached, the file is stored inside your vault and only visible when the vault is unlocked. You can add multiple attachments per entry.
Tip: Name your entries clearly (e.g. "Power of Attorney - original") and attach the matching document. That way your family knows exactly what they're opening. See Understanding Categories to choose the right place for each entry.
